Alex Job Racing has been racing at the storied Sebring International Raceway for more than 25 years. The team from Tavares, Florida, two hours north of Sebring, has won their class at the 12 hour event ten times and will be inducted into the Sebring Hall of Fame on Friday.
“I am honored to have the team inducted into the Sebring Hall of Fame,” said Alex Job, the team’s owner. “With ten wins and a one-two-three sweep of the podium we have always done well at what is considered, around the world, as the most demanding track for sports cars. All of our victories have been with Porsche and as we head into our 27th year with the brand we are hoping to add the 11th win this weekend.”
A long way from done, the team has two cars entered at Sebring this weekend. The Heart of Racing Porsche GT3R comes in as the defending GTD Class winners from last year. The WeatherTech Racing Porsche team won the event in 2012 and would like nothing better than to give the team their 11th Sebring 12 hours win.
Joining Alex Job Racing in the Class of 2016 are Tom Kristensen, Sebring’s leading winner with six overall victories; Sam Posey, 1975 Sebring winner; Dick Smothers, two-time class winner; Tres Stephenson, President of Sebring Raceway for over three decades; and former Tampa Tribune Sports Editor Tom McEwen.
