The No. 46 Porsche Cayman GT4 ClubSport, shared by drivers Ted Giovanis and Guy Cosmo, will start the event from the fourth row after Giovanis locked in eighth on the grid during at 15-minute qualifying session on Thursday. After running his early laps in traffic, Giovanis backed off to gain some clear running room but the move didn’t pay the dividends he was hoping that it would.
“The car was better than it was earlier today in practice, but I was fastest in the first part of the session when I was running right behind another ClubSport,” said Giovanis. “But when I slowed down to get a bigger gap, I wasn’t able to have the same pace. I probably should have stayed with him, but it’s okay we will have the chance to move up tomorrow.”
As is typical of the Austin, Texas area in September, the hot and muggy weather has made its presence known around the paddock. Despite the challenging race conditions, TeamTGM made positive progress on its Porsche machine through an afternoon practice session on Wednesday and a morning practice on Thursday.
Having taken the team’s Porsche that proudly displays the Jayne Koskinas Ted Giovanis Foundation to the podium at Road America, TeamTGM targets a podium return at Circuit of the Americas.

Giovanis and Cosmo will take part in a Q & A at the Porscheplatz on Friday morning at 10:10 AM Central Time before suiting up for the Grid Walk.
The race will go green at 12:40 PM local (1:40 PM ET) and will air LIVE on IMSA.tv.
