Christina Nielsen, Fabio Babini, and Erik Maris are sharing driving duties in the No. 80 Porsche 911 RSR, competing in the GTE-Am category at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Nielsen started the race from seventh place out of a field of 13 class competitors. At the halfway point of the 24-hour event, Nielsen is behind the wheel of the car, which is running fine after a close call with an LMP1-class machine in the fifth hour of the race.
Nielsen is comfortable with endurance racing. This is her third consecutive 24 Hours of Le Mans race and she’s recently raced in multiple 24, 12, and 9-hour races in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, in which she is the two-time defending GTD-class Champion. Her strategy is to drive with minimal risk, keep calm, and focus on clean, consistent laps throughout each of her daytime and nighttime stints.
