Team Parker Racing is ready to get its Porsche Sprint Challenge GB season underway, with a visit to the high-speed Thruxton, in Hampshire this weekend (May 8/9).
With a strong, four driver line-up piloting its Porsche Cayman 718 GT4 Clubsport machines, the team is optimistic about its chances across both categories in the series. In Pro, debutant Matt Armstrong, who made his first appearance on track at Brands Hatch last weekend, is joined by Ethan Hawkey, who claimed two podium finishes in the series last year.
In the Am class, Charlie March, who took part in the final round of the 2020 season with Team Parker Racing, returns for a full campaign, and is joined by another circuit racing debutant in Kurt Leimier. The pair will not only aim to best each other on track, but both appear with eye-catching liveries – Charlie’s reflecting the RAF heritage of Goodwood Motor Circuit, formerly RAF Westhampnett, and Kurt’s a play on the traditional Chinese Lion Dance which is said to bring good luck and fortune.
Having already had two ‘practice’ sessions at Thruxton in April, the drivers will have to be at their best as they head straight out for qualifying on Saturday, May 8, at 11:35, with a 16-lap race held later that afternoon at 16:20.
