Kiern Jewiss sets sights on Porsche Carrera Cup GB title with Team Parker Racing

Team Parker Racing is delighted to finalise its 2022 Porsche Carrera Cup GB line up as Kiern Jewiss makes a return to the team and series after claiming four victories last time out, securing the Rookie championship title in the process.

Still only 19 years old, Kiern has been successful wherever he has raced, winning a remarkable 195 trophies in karting, claiming the Rookie title in the Ginetta Junior Championship, claimed the F4 British Championship with a record-breaking points total at the first time of asking, and has been both a BRDC SuperStar and finalist in the prestigious BRDC McLaren (now Aston Martin) Autosport BRDC Award.

Last season the Kent native made the switch from single seaters to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB with Team Parker Racing, enjoying a successful season as he claimed four overall victories, tied for the most in the series, finished third in the standings, and romped to the Rookie Championship in the process.

With a full season under his belt, Kiern will enter the season as one of the favourites for the title, albeit facing stiff competition including from new team-mate Seb Morris, as the series introduces the latest 992-style Porsche 911 GT3 Cup machinery.

The season gets underway this weekend (April 23/24) at Donington Park, with unofficial practice on Thursday 21st, before qualifying on Saturday 23rd at 13:45.

“Testing has been positive, and it will be good to get the season underway at Donington Park, close to where the team is based. Hopefully, we’ll hit the ground running this year after a good debut season where we won the Rookie title and, if we can begin with some good results, then we can build momentum throughout the season.

“The new car is completely different, and I think a lot of teams will have had to get used to it a bit. Parker has run in the Porsche Supercup, so they hopefully have a bit more information than everybody else, but we’ll see where everyone is after qualifying at Donington.”
