B-Quik Absolute Racing is pleased to announce that experienced amateur Porsche racer Greg Bennett will drive our new Porsche Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport in the upcoming rounds of Thailand Super Series (TSS) 2022.
Greg will race the new car in the Super Car GTC category in Round 2, which comes up in Buriram at the end of this month (25-28 August), and in the non-championship TSS round supporting the Singapore F1 Grand Prix (29 September – 2 October) at the Marina Bay Circuit.
Participation in the final two TSS rounds will be subject to Greg’s availability and any further announcements will be made at a later date.
The American driver brings a wealth of Porsche racing experience to the table as he has been driving Porsche’s 991 GT3 Cup both here in Thailand and in the United States over the past few years. We also know Greg very well as B-Quik Absolute Racing has provided technical support to AFRacing while he was campaigning the “Cup” car in TSS in recent seasons.
We’re pleased to have secured Greg to drive this exciting new addition to our racecar portfolio and with his experience of both racing Porsches and working seamlessly with us in the past we are confident he is the perfect driver choice to unlock the potential of this car and deliver championship points.
This Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport only arrived at the team’s Bangkok raceshop from Germany at the beginning of last month and Greg has recently undertaken a shakedown and acclimatisation test at Bira Circuit, Pattaya, ahead of the car’s scheduled debut in TSS, which went bang to plan with both driver and team satisfied with the progress made over the two days.
The acquisition of the new “Gen 2” Cayman racecar further expands our racecar roster in Super Car GTC/GT4 to three cars as we will also enter a pair of “Gen 1” Type 718 Caymans, one of which will continue to be driven by B-Quik Junior driver Adisak Tangphuncharoen, who made his category debut last month at the Bangsaen Grand Prix.
The car to be driven by Greg will be entered under the name “B-Quik Absolute AFRacing”.
Henk Kiks (Team Owner): “We’ve known Greg for quite a number of years now and have provided technical support to him before, so, really, we can say he’s already part of the B-Quik family, and now to welcome him in to drive our new Cayman is very pleasing and I’m confident that he’s the right driver to extract the best from this car and deliver results. This new car also further expands our lineup in GTC which we have re-entered this year. We now look forward to seeing how Greg gets on with the car in Buriram and in Singapore.”
Greg Bennett (Driver, Porsche Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport): “I’m feeling confident in the hands of B-Quik Absolute AFRacing for the Thailand Super Series 2022 in the GTC class and grateful to my sponsors Amerasian Fragrance Research and V-Sachet. Just coming out of the Cup car in the USA, I’m looking forward to figuring out what the Cayman is capable of on the Buriram track and Singapore street circuit. With so many great drivers in the series, getting #11 onto a podium step will be challenging, but rest assured that I will be giving it my best and with a big grin on my face.”
