Even when the current season is over, Isaac Tutumlu continues reaping the rewards of his successful motorsport campaign in 2013. Yesterday, the driver born in Barcelona but from Kurdish roots attended the Royal Spanish Motorsport Federation (RFEDA) to collect his trophy as new champion in the Spanish Iber GT championship, partnering with Greece´s Dimitris Deverikos. The Greek driver was his teammate over the season at the wheel of the Porsche 997 GT3 R fielded by Autorlando Sport. The awards ceremony took place in the Spanish Olympic Committee headquarters, in Madrid (Spain)
“I´m very glad being awarded by the RFEDA, as our season was amazing taking the titles in the Spanish Iber GT championship and in the SuperGT Cup. It was an unforgettable event and extremely well organized. Key individuals like Jean Todt, FIA President, Alejandro Blanco, COE President, or Fernando Alonso attended the ceremony. When I collected the trophy on behalf of Barzani Racing Team, it was a very emotional moment. I would like to express my gratitude to Barzani family and my main sponsors Golden Eagle Global, Ster Group and Rebeld”, Tutumlu stressed. The driver has visited the Madrid Motor Days event today, an exceptional motorsport meeting on the European scene, and was interviewed on his visit. Last but not least he was able to exchange views with other drivers like Antonio Albacete or Javier Villa.
After Christmas his motorsport activity will start immediately, as he will take part in the Roar before The Rolex 24 on the first weekend in January. They are the official tests for the 24 hours of Daytona, and Tutumlu will make his debut with Starworks Motorsport Oreca-Chevrolet. Tutumlu may participate in the Dubai 24 hours driving for rhino´s Leipert Motorsport as well. “If I confirm my participation in Dubai, my season looks stressful since the beginning! But I´m looking forward to continuing my motorsport career at the highest level, always with new wins in sight and improving my list of triumphs when possible”, Tutumlu finally said.
