The International GT Open community was saddened by the news of the sudden passing-away, at the age of 50, of Emilio Di Guida, who suffered a heart attack last Saturday while jogging near his home in Florida. The Venezuelan driver raced in selected GT Open events, with the Autorlando Sport Porsche, collecting very good results and fulfilling his dream of racing on Europe’s legendary circuits. Despite his short stay in our championship, he quickly made many friends in the paddock, thanks to his positive attitude, his charm and his wit.
Emilio started racing in the 490s, claiming many titles in single-seater, touring car and GT formulae in Venezuela, before becoming a regular contender on the US and international GT and sportscar scene in 2010.
The International GT Open community and GT Sport express their deepest condolences to Emilio’s wife, Carla, his family and many friends.
