Isaac Tutumlu Defines His Racing Program For 2014

Isaac Tutumlu y Barzani Racing Team have reached an agreement with Autorlando Sport to compete in the International GT Open once again, teaming up with Matteo Beretta. As in 2013 Tutumlu will drive a factory-backed Porsche 997 GT3 R but unlike the last season, they shall fight for the title in Super GT class.

Isaac Tutumlu has already defined his main racing series in 2014: the International GT Open. After competing in the 24 hours of Daytona and the 24 hours of Dubai earlier this year, Tutumlu and Barzani Racing Team have reached an agreement with Autorlando Sport to be back on the highest European GT scene with every guarantee. Last year Tutumlu claimed the Spanish Iber GT title, becoming the very first driver achieving an international title in motorsport for Kurdistan, and was able to fight for the GT Open title teaming up with Dimitris Deverikos. Italy´s Matteo Beretta has been appointed as his new teammate to share a Porsche 997 GT3 R in Super GT class. The car will be updated accordingly to be able to fight for the title in Super GT.

“Barzani Racing Team has reached an agreement with Autorlando Sport to compete in the International GT Open again and Matteo Beretta as my new teammate. Contrary to the past year we will race in the Super GT class and not in GTS. As our car, a Porsche 997 GT3 R, is exactly the same we will make substantial improvements in the car to approach this new challenge totally secure and confident”, the Spanish driver of Kurdish heritage explains, stressing that“we need to work on the car from this point onward to prepare the season opener in May. It is very important to work as much as possible, as we will drive a GT3 car but facing GT2 cars. It is so awesome to initial this new agreement with Autorlando Sport as I feel at home with them. This new international project is the result of the support received by my sponsors, Barzani family, whose support and the whole Kurdistan is essential, Ster Group, Golden Eagle Global, Palo Wood and iMAGE Motorsport Experiences. Their support is crucial to compete at the highest level, and I am very proud and fortunate”.

Anyway the racing program could have additional races as Tutumlu says: “The Gulf 12 hours and the 24 hours of Dubai are in our sights and, maybe, single events in the Blancpain Endurance Series and in the United SportsCar Championship, but it is to be decided over the season”.
