Porsche Carrera Cup GB: Knockhill – free practice report. Cammish maintains top form in challenging conditions

Dan Cammish (Redline Racing) returned to his Porsche Carrera Cup GB seat for the first time since a dramatic last lap victory at Carrera Cup Le Mans in June. Since then the double champion has been consolidating third in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, a campaign that saw the Leeds driver miss rounds eight and nine at Snetterton two weeks ago.

Unfazed by switching back into the first generation of 911 ‘Type 991’ GT3 Cup after two months away, Cammish looks to be on target to maintain his perfect Knockhill record – four wins from four starts in Porsche Carrera Cup GB. However, rapidly changing conditions that saw not everyone capitalise on the drying track or elect to run on slicks mean that the final times do not necessarily tell the full story.

In Pro-Am1, Alex Martin (Team Parker Racing) holds the advantage but Justin Sherwood (Team Parker Racing) and the returning John McCullagh (Redline Racing) have gained ground to make the class closer than ever.

Peter Kyle-Henney (IN2 Racing) set fastest time in the Pro-Am2 category, but Shamus Jennings (G-Cat Racing) laid claim to being second fastest despite not participating in the drier second session.
