The Spa-Francorchamps / Belgium based team around Renate-Carola and Bernhard Mühlner is in the final stages of preparing the “big one”, the ADAC 24h Nuerburgring. With two cars entered in two different classes, Mühlner Motorsport is looking for topping the result of last years race. Bernhard Mühlner: “With our 911.2 GT3 Cup car in SP7 and one of our new Caymans in the Cayman GT4 Trophy, we hope to be able to repeat or even topping our 1-2 finish in the Cayman GT4 Trophy in 2018.”
Normally, the GT3 Cup car is entered in the Cup2 class. The Cup2 class in VLN is advertised as the Porsche Carrera Cup class, so only for GT3 Cup cars and the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany regulations are eligible here. With going into the SP7 class the car is allowed to run without air restrictor and therefor with more horse power. Some aerodynamic changes, which gives the car more downforce are also mandatory. The minimum weight is at 1300 kg, and therefor slightly heavier than in the Cup2 class.
In the Cayman GT4 Trophy everything stays the same as in VLN, as the ADAC 24h races uses the same regulations.
Next week the final rehearsal takes place, the ADAC 24h qualification 6h race and both cars will be racing the famous Nuerburgring Nordschleife in order to prepare for the ADAC 24h race, which will take place from June 20th to 23rd.
