Redemption Time at Mosport for Park Place Motorsports

Park Place Motorsports returns to SRO GT4 America by Pirelli action at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park May 17-19 searching for redemption after three flat tires and brake issues ruined its VIRginia International Raceway weekend.

Driver and sponsor Alan Brynjolfsson and co-driver Trent Hindman have since recovered from the crushing blow VIR provided ending their streak of completing every race in the 2019 season. The duo has completed 12 hours of racing together, not counting Brynjolfsson’s solo ventures, showcasing speed and teamwork every race weekend. Brynjolfsson and Hindman will take those same skills to Mosport with the hope of better luck on the 2.459-mile track.

Park Place Motorsports returns to the track with both the No. 7 and No. 77 Volt Lighting Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR. The No. 7 is piloted by Brynjolfsson in the GT4 America Sprint series with No. 77 being driven by both Brynjolfsson and Hindman in the GT4 America EAST series. Both cars will race in two feature races, making for another weekend of four races. The GT4 America Sprint series has two, 50-minute races while the GT4 America EAST series has two, hour-long races.

“I think CTMP will be a great track for the 718 Cayman since it has long flowing turns that require a good balance,” Johnson said. “Right now, our biggest concern, of course, is the tire situation. As long as that is resolved, we should have a pretty good weekend. Running two cars with four races will be a challenge, but the schedule is pretty spaced out, so I don’t expect it to be too difficult.”

The SRO GT4 America weekend takes place Friday, May 16 through Sunday, May 19. Friday morning provides free practice sessions for both GT4 America Sprint and GT4 America EAST. Friday afternoon both series are set to qualify; GT4 America Sprint qualifies at 1:05 p.m. ET followed by GT4 America EAST at 2:30 p.m. GT4 America EAST will end Friday with Race One at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18 GT4 America Sprint kicks off the day for Park Place Motorsports with Race One and Race Two for GT4 America EAST brings an end to Saturday. Sunday, May 19 eases the team out of the hectic weekend with a final race, GT4 America Sprint Race Two at 4:30 p.m.
