On March 14th, the Spa-Francorchamps / Belgium based Mühlner Motorsport Team participated in the official test day of the Nuerburgring Endurance Series.
Thorsten Jung, Marcel Hoppe and Mühlner regular driver Moritz Kranz shared driving duties behind the steering wheels of the Porsche Cayman GT4 Competition, which will compete in the Cayman GT4 Trophy / Cup 3 class, and the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, which in 2020 will participate, as in the 2019 ADAC 6- and 24-hour races already, in the SP7 class.
In sunshine and with pleasant temperatures different suspension settings were tried out until the drivers were satisfied with the handling of the two Porsche race cars and delivered fast lap times, which let hope for a successful season.
Since the first two rounds of the Nuerburgring Endurance Series had to be postponed, as the current cirumstances with the Corona virus made it impossible to host the races, it remains to be seen when the motorsport season 2020 on the Nuerburgring Nordschleife will actually start.
“We had already set the course early on in order to successfully participate again in the Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie NLS, as the VLN is now called, in 2020. The fact that we took part in the official test day shows our clear commitment. It is to be hoped that the world will soon return to normality and the 2020 Motorsport season will begin,” says Bernhard Mühlner.
