Edoardo Liberati is set to race for the second consecutive year the 24 Hours of Nürburgring that marks this weekend, 26th/27th September, its 48th edition. The Italian racer will share driving duties with team-mates Josh Burdon, Alexandre Imperatori, Dennis Olsen in one of the two Porsche 911 GT3 R cars fielded by KCMG.
After claiming a best sixth position at the Nordschleife in Round 4 of Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie held on early August, Liberati heads to Germany aiming for a podium finish.
At the Nürburgring Grand Prix track, driving a Porsche run by the Hong Kong’s squad, he finished eight with Burdon and Imperatori in the 3-hour race, second round of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, three weeks ago.
“I am pretty confident for the race. In the NLS we developed well our car. I think we could aim for a good result”, the 27-year-old Rome-based racer explained. “Whether it is rain or dry, the most important thing will be not to make mistakes and survive a very cold night. For sure we have the right potential for aiming to the podium”.
The 24 Hours of Nürburgring is one of the most important event this year for Liberati and KCMG. The weekend will get underway on Thursday with the first two qualifying sessions. One more session is scheduled for Friday, ahead of Top Qualifying. The warm-up will start on Saturday at 11.15, with the race start at 15.30 and the finish line the day after.
