Monza kicks-off the 2022 Italian GT Championship challenge for Riccardo Agostini

The new challenge for Riccardo Agostini in the Italian GT is set to start this weekend at Monza, 23/24 April. In the same track where he claimed a victory and 2021 Endurance title six months ago, the Sprint series gets finally underway.

After clinching four Italian GT titles in the last three years, the 27-year-old racer will drive for the first time a Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo fielded by Easy Race, sharing the duties with young Swede Daniel Vebster.

At Monza in 2021 Agostini secured a best second position in the Sprint series, first out of three podium finishes – including a victory at Imola – that let him to take the Italian crown for the third time in a row, following the 2019 title with a Mercedes and the one claimed in 2020 with the Audi.

And now Agostini tries to defend his leadership with a different brand.

The weekend at Monza will fire up on Friday with the two one-hour free practice sessions at 11.55 and 17.00. Qualifying one and two – each one of 15 minutes – will be run on Saturday at 10.55 and 11.45. The first of two 50-minute plus one lap races will commence at 18.05. Race two is scheduled on Sunday at 15.15.
